If you Google “must haves when building a custom house,” you’ll uncover lists of what *other* people believe to be must-haves in their own homes. These lists, however, may not include items that you feel are essential in your own dream house.
A must-have for one individual may be something you don’t care about… so don’t include it on your list of places to splurge. This is YOUR home, and it should represent YOUR preferences and requirements.

All of the above suggestions are great must haves’ for someone, but they aren’t always must-haves for your family… and that’s fine!
Just because one person thinks something is a must-have in their home doesn’t mean you have to have it… especially if it’s not something you care about (e.g. wine storage or large bedrooms).
